What’s a plant-based diet?

“What’s a plant-based diet” you ask? You can get a thorough answer here.  A plant-based diet is basically what it sounds like, i.e. you eat things that are grown in the ground such as fruits vegetables, grains, nuts, seeds and legumes.

I don’t eat completely plant-based, but have recently reduced the amount of meat in my diet and replaced it with things like tofu, tempeh, mushrooms and nuts. I haven’t eaten much of these “vego foods” in the past but have found some great recipes and it’s been easy to change. It’s going quite well and I can see this being a permanent diet change for the better.

When I eat out it’s usually pretty easy to find a fairly tasty and healthy vegetarian or seafood option.

I’m not trying to convert you to a plant-based diet. If you want more information on plant-based diet watch the Netflix documentaries “What the Health” or “Forks over Knives”….although you need to take everything you read and watch on the internet with a grain of salt … not literally!
